The Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of Children and Adults with Attention- Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder is a volunteer support and advocacy group. The organization hosts monthly workshops, boasts a large Lending Library, and has published a Parent/Teacher Handbook on ADD and Related Disorders which addresses concerns surrounding communication between home and school.
Our Chapter Objectives are as follows:
CHADD follows the recommendations of National Institutes of Mental Health and the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, both of whom recommend a multimodal approach to treatment -- educational accommodations, parent and teacher training, and medication when necessary.
