Have you joined CHADD yet?

Many of you have been participating in our programs and organization, but have wondered why you should join CHADD.  Of course, we would appreciate your membership and support of our projects, but what is in it for you?  Click on the appropriate link below to find out all of the benefits of each kind of membership.

Parents and Caregivers -- This is your opportunity to join a network of people like yourselves, parents who understand the daily challenges you and your family face, and who are finding ways to successfully meet those challenges,

Adults with AD/HD -- Gain support and access to information on a broad range of topics such as managing relationships, time management, workplace issues, and diagnosis and treatment.

Educators and Students -- Receive the most recent facts and research to provide background information and context on the many concerns and issues surrounding AD/HD.

Professionals and Organizations -- For those who work to help children and/or adults with AD/HD, seek the latest scientific findings about the disorder and related topics, as well as the best practices associated with AD/HD in the fields of medicine, education and law.  Additional benefits for professional organizational members, including a listing on CHADD's National website, can be found at chadd.org.

In addition to affiliation with your local CHADD Chapter, members receive the following:

  • A free copy of THe CHADD Information and Resource Guide: A 100+ page guide to life with AD/HD.  (A $30 value!)
  • Attention! Magazine:  CHADD's bimonthly magazine, offering advice and the most current information about AD/HD from the field's leading experts.
  • Reduced annual conference fee:  CHADD's annual international conference is the major research, practice and public information conference dedicated to issues related to AD/HD, bringing together researchers, clinicians, educators, parents and adults with AD/HD to disseminate the latest developments in research, diagnosis and treatement; to facilitate an ongoing exchange about issues related to AD/HD by individuals with different experiences and viewpoints; and to increase public understanding of the disorder and its impact.
  • Members' Only Web Site:  The CHADD Members' Only Site offers discussion boards, a chat site which conducts monthly chats with the top experts in the country, monthly chat archives, ATTENTION! Magazine archives, and much more,

These are only a few examples.  Please take a few minutes to join CHADD and support our efforts on behalf of those with AD/HD.

Scholarships Available!

For those who are unable to afford the membership fee, the Matt Cohen Membership Support Fund of CHADD offers a complimentary one-year membership.  For information about this program, contact us at lacachadd@hotmail.com.  Please allow 2 - 4 weeks to process your request.

About this site

Thank you for visiting our site.  We are here to support families and others dealing with ADHD in Louisiana.  Please post a note and plan to join us at an upcoming meeting.

InfoLine Update

For anyone who might have left a telephone message on our InfoLine in the last few months, please note that technical difficulties have resulted in the loss of a number of the messages.  At this time we do not have sufficient volunteers to return individual telephone calls, so we hope that you will bring any questions to our meetings personally.

If you need to speak with a health information specialist about AD/HD and cannot wait until our next meeting, please call the National Resource Center on AD/HD at 1-800-233-4050.

How Can We Help You?

A more extensive survey to determine what you expect from our group has been developed and the link has been distributed to all email addresses in our file.  If you have not yet responded to this survey, please click HERE and take a minute or two to answer the questions.  It will be a great help to us!
